Poverty

Uncategorized October 16th, 2008

Poverty is a growing problem in the United States and countries all around the world. Almost half of the people in the world, approximately 3 billion, have less than $2.50 to use every day! probably the best way to get rid of poverty is to be educated. If people choose to or are allowed to have a better education, more people would have a chance to make a better life for themselves. In some poor nations the people have no power. The few lucky ones are rich while the rest are left poor and struggling. This is hardly fair. Out of the 2.2 million children in the world, 1 million live in poverty. This is a problem that needs to be addressed! We cannot let our world be like this…

10 Ways to Help out!

1. Eat meatless meals 2x a week. Donate that grocery money to a local food bank.

2. Get a group together to go door-to-door collecting canned foods for your local soup kitchen/shelter.

3. Share your skill or knowledge, so they can improve their knowledge to increase their life/prosperity.

4. Donate!

5. Volunteer at a soup kitchen!

6. Talk with your children about poverty and who it affects.

7. Contributing to relief funds which can assist this cause.

8. Educate others. If you are a teacher, talk to your students about poverty.

9. Make a list of five items you haven’t used for long and have no plans to use them in future either. Donate them to people in need.

10. Do a campaign of creative advertisements for public awareness and a call to action. Do a poster, do an ambient campaign, write a radio or TV spot.

Its so sad what goes on in this world. Even In the USA theres poverty, look at new york seems like such a rich classy place, but tehrres kids and parents on the streets begging for work just for a peice of bread. ITs really sad what goes on. Just recently I was on the highway and theere was a pregnant mother Im guessing about 8months and she had a daughter and her husband. They were all crying begging for food. I really wish I could do something about it. And The worst part is that ehres some people who fake being poor and they dont relize what is really going on througout the world!
